The EMotion breakout boards are used with the EMotion controller to interface with motors and other external devices. There are two types of breakout boards: a generic type and a specific type designed for use with particular motor drivers.
Generic type:
- Breaks out all signals for use from the connector block. Most flexible, but requires wiring of each individual signal.
Specific type:
- Designed to connect quickly to motor drives from well-known manufacturers using just one cable. This is very convenient for connecting to many axes, as well as increasing overall robustness of system. (Wires won’t slip out of connector blocks.)
Q: Which motor drivers can EMotion specific type breakout boards support?
Here are the supported motor drives, as of March 2023.
Manufacturer | Drive Model | Breakout board TENET internal code |
Yaskawa | SGDV/SGD7 | S7 |
Mitsubishi | MR-J4/JE | J4 |
Mitsubishi | MR-J2S | J2S |
Panasonic | MinasA4/A5/A6 | A5 |
Delta | ASDA-B2 | B2 |
Delta | ASDA-A2 | A2 |
Some parameters may need to be set in the motor driver for proper operation with TENET EMotion. Please see here for notes:
Delta ASDA-B2 Driver Note for using Specific Type Breakout BoardsPlease note that specific type breakout boards for the same manufacturer (i.e. Mitsubishi) may not be compatible for all drive models from the same manufacturer. Please check with support@tenet-tech.co if you have a question about compatibility with a particular motor drive.
